Tyson Fury has officially locked in his next fight as he continues preparations for a long-awaited showdown with Anthony Joshua later this year.
On Tuesday, Queensberry Promotions announced that Tyson Fury will face veteran heavyweight Mariusz Wach at Max Muay Thai Stadium in Pattaya, Thailand, on July 24. The bout is expected to serve as Fury’s final tune-up before a potential blockbuster clash with Joshua.
Wach, 46, brings plenty of experience to the ring. The Polish heavyweight famously challenged Wladimir Klitschko for the unified heavyweight titles in 2012. Since then, he has compiled a mixed record, going 12-12 in his last 24 outings. He enters the fight following a decision loss to Viktor Vykhryst in March.
Earlier this year, Tyson Fury ended what was his fifth retirement from professional boxing when he returned to face Arslanbek Makhmudov in April. Fury secured a unanimous decision victory, bouncing back after consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024.
Following that win, Fury reiterated his desire to finally settle unfinished business with Anthony Joshua in a fight that fans have been waiting nearly a decade to see.

Before that mega-fight becomes reality, both heavyweights have opted for interim bouts.
While Fury faces Wach in Thailand on July 24, Joshua is scheduled to take on Kristian Prenga just one day later. If both men emerge victorious, attention will quickly shift toward one of the biggest fights in modern heavyweight boxing.
The announcement of Tyson Fury’s next opponent has generated mixed reactions among boxing fans.
Although Wach owns 39 career victories and has shared the ring with several notable heavyweights, he has struggled against elite competition in recent years. The veteran has lost seven of his last 10 fights and has not recorded a signature victory over a top contender during that stretch.
Still, the matchup provides Fury with an opportunity to stay active and sharpen his skills before stepping into what could be the defining fight of his post-championship career.
Queensberry Promotions also confirmed that proceeds from ticket sales for the Thailand event will support local charities in the Pattaya area.
With both Tyson Fury and Joshua scheduled to compete within 24 hours of each other, the heavyweight division now appears firmly on course for the blockbuster showdown fans have wanted for years. The remaining question is whether both men can successfully navigate their final hurdles before meeting later this year.
