EARLY LIFE

Jubril Inuwa Baba grew up in the northern part of Nigeria and described his love for Chinese movies as one of his inspirations for going into MMA. Growing up, Inuwa was a weak child and always got picked on because of his stature, but he never lost his heart and would always get back up. He started learning boxing when he relocated to Lagos with his family but moved up to kung fu when he met coach Si Huddan. Inuwa started competing and sparring with other trainees and participated in his first-ever competition at the Kada Games in 2009.

He is an expert kickboxer, Karate fighter, and a Wushu Sanda veteran. The athlete gained fame in the combat industry after representing Lagos in the National Kung Fu Festival in 2018, where he won a gold medal. He later transitioned to Karate and won a national gold medal. Jubril moved into Kickboxing and won a gold medal in the 2020 and 2021 national tournaments. His first debut in MMA was a match against top fighter Ndidi Alonu, but he lost the fight by a split decision.
