Abdoulaye Kane made a statement in the PFL Africa: Morocco main event, stopping hometown fighter Badr Medkouri by ground-and-pound at 4:06 of the opening round.
The Professional Fighters League heads to the Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca, Morocco, on Saturday, October 10, 2026, for PFL Africa: Morocco. The heavyweight main event pits Kane, who holds a 5-2 professional record, against Medkouri, who enters with a 9-3 record and the backing of the home crowd.
Abdoulaye Kane arrives in Morocco looking to recover from a first-round TKO loss to Justin Clarke at PFL Africa’s opening event of the 2026 season in April. The defeat snapped a two-fight winning streak that included a second-round TKO of Jashell Ticha Awa and a spectacular 23-second head-kick knockout of Emmanuel Mukam in 2025.
Badr Medkouri enters the main event with a 8-4 professional record, including eight knockout victories. Fighting in front of his home crowd gives the Moroccan heavyweight an opportunity to make a major impression as PFL brings its African promotion to North Africa for the first time. However, Medkouri is also looking to rebound after a submission defeat in his most recent outing.
Kane opens the contest aggressively, bringing heavy strikes to the heavyweight exchange as both fighters look to establish control early. The action briefly pauses after an apparent eye poke from Kane, allowing Medkouri time to recover before the contest resumes. Once the fight gets underway again, Kane presses forward and drives Medkouri towards the fence, where he works to control the Moroccan heavyweight’s movement. Kane eventually completes a takedown and takes the fight to the canvas. He establishes top position and begins unloading punches as Medkouri attempts to defend himself and work towards an escape. Kane maintains pressure from the top, landing damaging ground-and-pound before transitioning into full mount. From the dominant position, Kane unleashes a barrage of punches and elbows, leaving Medkouri struggling to mount an effective defence. With Medkouri unable to escape the sustained attack, the referee steps in to stop the contest at 4:06 of the opening round.

Kane entered the contest looking to rebound from his April loss to Justin Clarke, who stopped him by punches in the first round at PFL Africa: Pretoria. Now he has responded with another opening-round stoppage, adding Medkouri to a record that already featured multiple knockout victories. For Medkouri, the defeat marked a disappointing end to his PFL debut. The Moroccan heavyweight had the opportunity to make an impression in front of the home crowd but was unable to get past Kane. Kane secured the technical knockout at 4:06 of Round 1, with ground-and-pound bringing the main event to an end. The result gave Kane a decisive victory over Medkouri, who was competing in front of his home crowd.
The co-main event also saw Yanis Ghemmouri secure a dominant unanimous decision victory over Taha Bendaoud, with all three judges scoring the featherweight contest 30–27 in his favour. Ghemmouri swept the scorecards to claim a convincing win after three rounds.
