Salahdine Parnasse could not have asked for a better start to his UFC career.
The former two-division KSW champion Parnasse announced his arrival in spectacular fashion at UFC Paris, stopping veteran lightweight contender Dan Hooker in the first round of their main event clash. Now, with a statement win under his belt, Salahdine Parnasse ready for Holloway has quickly become one of the hottest storylines in the lightweight division.
Parnasse wasted little time making his intentions clear after the biggest win of his career.
“I’m ready for the next fight, top five,” Parnasse said through a translator after his victory. “My dream fight is Max Holloway. Max Holloway is a legend. Big respect to Max Holloway. My dream fight is Max Holloway.
“I’m ready for Max Holloway or anyone in the top five. UFC, I’m ready.”
Parnasse entered UFC Paris carrying significant expectations following a dominant run in KSW, but few expected him to dismantle Hooker so quickly.
The French star landed a crushing body kick before finishing the job with follow-up strikes, earning a first-round TKO victory and a “Performance of the Night” bonus. The emphatic finish extended his remarkable streak, with each of his last six wins ending by knockout or TKO.
The victory also reinforced why many considered him one of the most sought-after free agents before signing with the UFC.
Despite being just one fight into his UFC journey, Parnasse believes he is ready to test himself against one of the biggest names in the sport.
Speaking at the post-fight press conference, he explained why a matchup with Holloway appeals to him.
“He’s a very well-conditioned guy,” Parnasse said. “He was the champion, the BMF champion. It’s always been a dream just to see who’s better conditioned, me or him.”
While Holloway tops his wish list, Parnasse made it clear that his long-term goal remains the lightweight title.
The French standout has now won six straight fights and 11 of his last 12. Throughout his career, he has thrived under pressure, winning championship bouts at both featherweight and lightweight during his successful run in KSW.
“I’m going after the belt,” Parnasse said. “I want to go step by step, keep moving up the division, and I want to be the best in the world.”
When asked how quickly he believes he can earn a title shot, Parnasse offered a confident prediction.
“We’ll see. I hope maybe my third fight,” he said. “We’ll see.”
Holloway currently finds himself in an unusual position following his recent victory over Conor McGregor at UFC 329. While Holloway earned the win, the fight ended prematurely after McGregor suffered serious knee injuries just over a minute into the contest.
With many of the lightweight division’s top contenders sorting out their next moves, Holloway’s immediate future remains uncertain.
It would be a massive leap in competition for the Frenchman, but based on his performance in Paris, confidence is not something he lacks. Whether the UFC grants him the matchup or not, one thing is clear: Salahdine Parnasse ready for Holloway is no longer just a dream fight—it is a challenge he is actively pursuing.
