Josh Hokit continued his rapid rise through the heavyweight ranks with a dominant stoppage win over Derrick Lewis at UFC Freedom 250 on the White House lawn.

The undefeated heavyweight entered the bout surrounded by controversy and hype, but he backed up every bit of it inside the Octagon. In a one-sided performance, Hokit overwhelmed Lewis before securing a second-round TKO victory to remain unbeaten in his professional career.

The buildup to Josh Hokit vs Derrick Lewis generated plenty of attention. Hokit had become one of the UFC’s most controversial figures thanks to his outspoken personality, Lewis, meanwhile, entered the historic event as one of the division’s most respected veterans and knockout artists.

Once the fight began, however, Hokit left little doubt about who was in control.

Despite giving up 34 pounds to Lewis on the scale, Hokit immediately used his speed and movement to dictate the pace. He opened with a series of body and leg kicks while Lewis patiently searched for an opportunity to land one of his trademark power shots.

Midway through the opening round, the former NFL player showcased his underrated wrestling by securing a takedown. From top position, he unleashed relentless ground-and-pound while repeatedly cutting through Lewis’ defenses.

A massive elbow opened a cut on Lewis, and Hokit continued piling on the damage. He advanced into dominant positions, landed heavy strikes, and even threatened with an armbar before the round came to an end.
Lewis survived, but he looked exhausted heading into the second frame.

To his credit, “The Black Beast” started Round 2. He stuffed an early takedown attempt and landed a few sharp counters that briefly energized the crowd.

Hokit quickly regained control, snapping Lewis’ head back with combinations and forcing him onto the defensive. As the exchanges continued, Hokit’s speed and accuracy became too much for the veteran heavyweight to handle.

Two muscular fighters face off in a close stare-down, arms linked, as officials step in nearby; one wears a star-spangled bandana.

A series of right hands left Lewis visibly hurt, and Hokit sensed the finish.

Pressing forward against the cage, he unleashed a barrage of punches before landing a devastating combination that sent Lewis crashing to the canvas. Hokit followed up with more strikes until the referee stepped in to stop the contest at 4:09 of the second round.

Following the victory, Hokit immediately turned his attention to another heavyweight star.

“I’m the man with the plan. The beast that’s ready to feast,” Hokit shouted after the fight. “Now listen, Alex Pereira, I want to chama on your mama.”

The callout continued Hokit’s ongoing attempts to provoke former two-division champion Alex Pereira, whom he has repeatedly targeted in recent weeks.

With the win, Hokit improves to 10-0 as a professional and 4-0 inside the UFC. More importantly, he continues to build momentum as a legitimate contender in the heavyweight division.
