The aftermath of PFL San Diego has left several fighters facing lengthy medical suspensions, with two athletes potentially sidelined for up to six months pending medical clearance.

According to medical suspensions released by the California State Athletic Commission on Monday, featherweight Khasan Magomedsharipov and prelim fighter Ilara Joanne received 180-day suspensions following injuries sustained during Saturday’s event.

Magomedsharipov, who secured a victory over Joshua Weems, must receive clearance for a suspected orbital bone fracture before he can compete again. Without medical approval, he will remain suspended for six months.
Joanne faces a similar situation after suffering a possible fracture to her right knee. The Brazilian fighter can return before the suspension expires only if a physician clears her injury.

The PFL San Diego main event participants avoided lengthy layoffs but still received medical suspensions following a hard-fought contest.

A.J. McKee, who earned a dominant decision victory over Salamat Isbulaev, was handed a 60-day suspension unless a physician clears a laceration near his left eye. Isbulaev received the same suspension for a similar injury.

In addition, Isbulaev must serve a mandatory 45-day suspension, including 30 days of no contact, due to the physical nature of the bout.

Among all competitors on the card, Abraham Bably was the only fighter issued an indefinite suspension.

Following his TKO defeat, Bably must undergo both an MRI and CT scan before receiving clearance to compete again. He also received a mandatory 45-day suspension with 30 days of no contact.

Joanne was handed additional medical restrictions beyond her knee injury. She received a separate 60-day suspension for a laceration near her right eye, along with a mandatory 45-day suspension and 30-day no-contact period stemming from her TKO loss.

Most of the remaining athletes on the PFL San Diego card received standard seven-day mandatory rest suspensions, allowing them to return to training and competition once the required recovery period ends.

While the event delivered plenty of action inside the cage, the medical report highlights the physical toll fighters endured, with several competitors now facing weeks, or even months, on the sidelines before they can return to action.
