EARLY LIFE
Nico Yamdije is a powerful fighter with heavy punches. The athlete was into kickboxing before his personal trainer introduced him to MMA, and he has continued to prove himself resilient. He has listed Mike Tyson as an inspiration and has continued to train and prove himself a formidable fighter. Yamdjie is an EFC fighter and has been in twelve professional MMA bouts and one amateur fight.
MMA CAREER
Yamdjie has been a consistent MMA athlete and has mainly fought at the EFC tournament. At his first amateur MMA bout, he faced Juan Bezuidenhout Cape Fight League. He won after a TKO in round one. Next, he made his professional debut at EFC Worldwide, where he battled South African fighter Wessel Mostert. Mostert wasted no time assailing his opponents with deadly strikes, leading to a first-round TKO. Next, he faced Mpata Mikixi and destroyed his opponent after a rear naked choke led to Mikixi’s submission in the first round.
Later, he faced Thabani Mndebela and lost the battle following a split decision in round three. Soon after, he faced Ricky Misholas and lost after a unanimous decision in the third round. After this, he faced Elvis Moyo and lost the battle via split decision. His losing streak continued when he faced Kevin Koekemoer and lost again via unanimous decision.
Next, Yamdjie battled Thabani Mndebela and was defeated after a unanimous decision. Successively, he faced Tian Fick at a boxing tournament and lost the match after six rounds. Later, he faced Juan Bezuidenhout and won the fight after a first-round TKO. Next, he squared up against Juan Roux in a boxing match. The two threw vicious punches, but by the sixth round, Roux was declared the winner following a unanimous decision.
Subsequently, Yamdjie faced Senegal fighter Papa Ibrahima Ndour and won the battle following a ground pound in round one. His next opponent was Matunga Dijkasa, who lost the fight unanimously. Sholto Luiters was his next opponent, and he defeated him after a TKO in the opening round.
His last recorded battle was against Adam Diop. The Senegalese went in for a takedown in round one and continued to punch his opponent till the referee called a stoppage in the first round.
