EARLY LIFE
Nerik Simoes is a formidable fighter. He’s currently ranked #9 in South Africa’s pro featherweight division. He has fought in twelve professional bouts and five amateur battles.
MMA CAREER
The fighter competed at Fightstar FC, EFC Worldwide, and UAE Warriors. His first amateur fight saw him battle Ruan Stander and win after a TKO in round two. Next, he faced Cameron Leigh Birnie and won after a KO in the opening round. Later, he fought Roedie Roets and lost following a heel hook in round one. Afterward, Simoes fought Ewaldt Botha and lost after a rear naked choke in round one. Next, he squared up against Serge Kasanda and defeated his opponent after landing a heavy head kick in the second round.
After his amateur round, Simoes made his professional debut at EFC Worldwide 59, where he battled Trezeguet Kanyinda and won after locking him in a rear naked choke that led to first-round submission. Next, he squared up against Faeez Jacobs at EFC Worldwide 63. The two grappled before a full mount by Simoes. Jacobs managed some elbow strikes and tried for a tried triangle choke. Following this, he battled Steven Goncalves and lost after a rear naked choke in round one. Next, he fought Pierre Botha and lost following a unanimous decision. His next opponent was Marcel Conrad Els, and he lost after a KO in the opening round. Later, Simoes battled Warren Richards and won following a unanimous decision.
