UFC CEO Dana White could be facing an unexpected career opportunity after United States President Donald Trump publicly offered him the position of White House press secretary.
Trump made the announcement on Saturday, November 7, through a post on his Truth Social platform, describing White as a “violent Fighter and Warrior” and urging him to accept the role.
“I am pleased to announce that the Great Dana White, a violent Fighter and Warrior, has been offered the job of Press Secretary of the United States,” Trump wrote. “I have requested that he bring with him assistants, even though some are not from our Country, of Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Kayla Harris.”
The president also suggested that White bring several familiar UFC names with him as assistants, including former lightweight champions Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev, former interim champion Justin Gaethje, former two-division champion Daniel Cormier, former women’s two-division champion Amanda Nunes and Kayla Harrison.
“We need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left,” Trump wrote, before adding, “Dana will be a Press Secretary like none other. Dana, please take the job!” White appeared to acknowledge the offer through his Instagram Stories, sharing a photograph of himself standing behind the press secretary’s lectern in the White House.

He captioned the image, “On to the next chapter,” before also reposting Trump’s message. However, White has not publicly confirmed that he intends to accept the position. It also remains unclear whether the offer represents a formal appointment or a public appeal from the president. The UFC has not announced any change to White’s position as its president and CEO.
The offer comes as little surprise given the longstanding relationship between White and Trump.
The UFC boss has been an outspoken supporter of the president for years and has appeared at several Republican National Conventions, including those held in 2016, 2020 and 2024. White also played a major role in bringing the UFC to the White House for UFC Freedom 250 in June 2026, an event held on the South Lawn as part of celebrations marking America’s 250th anniversary. Trump has frequently attended UFC events alongside White, with their relationship extending beyond their shared interest in mixed martial arts.
Trump’s offer comes during a period of changes within his communications team. Katie Zacharia, who replaced Karoline Leavitt as White House press secretary, left the position after just five days. Leavitt had departed in August, leaving the administration searching for a new permanent spokesperson. The president’s public appeal to White therefore places White’s name in the conversation, although no official confirmation has been issued regarding his acceptance or appointment.
For now, White remains the head of the UFC, while his response has added another unexpected development to his relationship with the president. Whether the longtime fight promoter will trade the Octagon for the White House briefing room remains to be seen.
