Diego Ferreira outworks Billy Quarantillo to score a unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 120 . The Octagon was set to deliver another veteran showdown when Diego Ferreira and Billy Quarantillo collided in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 120 on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Diego Ferreira entered the UFC Vegas 120 co-main event looking to snap a two-fight losing streak. The Brazilian’s most recent appearance came in September 2025, when Alexander Hernandez stopped him by second-round TKO at UFC Noche. Before that, Ferreira had suffered a unanimous decision loss to Grant Dawson at UFC 311 in January 2025.
Ferreira’s last victory came in May 2024, when he produced a dramatic comeback against Mateusz Rębecki at UFC St. Louis. After a difficult start, Ferreira turned the fight around and finished Rębecki with ground-and-pound late in the third round. The victory was one of his most impressive performances in recent years.

Quarantillo arrived with an even bigger point to prove. Billy Q had not fought since December 2024, when Cub Swanson knocked him out with punches in the third round at UFC Tampa. That defeat followed another setback against Youssef Zalal, who submitted him with a rear-naked choke in March 2024. Before those back-to-back losses, Quarantillo had returned to the win column with a unanimous decision victory over Damon Jackson in August 2023. He had also scored a memorable second-round TKO over Alexander Hernandez in December 2022. That made the UFC Vegas 120 matchup particularly important for both men. Ferreira was trying to halt a two-fight skid, while Quarantillo was returning after 19 months away and making his move to lightweight.

Quarantillo came out pressing forward, landing a right hand and left hook as he tried to force Ferreira into a firefight. Ferreira stayed composed, answered with a low kick and then landed a knee during a brief clinch. Ferreira began finding his rhythm with his boxing, connecting with a clean one-two before putting together another combination. Quarantillo continued looking for a single-leg, but Ferreira repeatedly defended the takedown attempts. Midway through the round, Ferreira landed a strong one-two before mixing in a body kick and overhand right. He then changed levels and successfully took Quarantillo to the canvas. From half guard, Ferreira controlled the position and worked his ground-and-pound, landing punches and elbows while keeping Quarantillo pinned down. Quarantillo eventually returned to his feet, but Ferreira finished the round strongly.

Round two began, and Quarantillo returned with pressure, looking to make Ferreira work. Ferreira continued meeting him with combinations, landing a sharp one-two and a clean right cross whenever Quarantillo stepped into range. Ferreira mixed up his attack with body kicks, hooks and straight punches, keeping Quarantillo guessing. He secured another takedown midway through the round, although Quarantillo quickly worked his way back to his feet. Back in the striking exchanges, Ferreira continued to land the cleaner combinations. Quarantillo kept marching forward and refused to back down, but Ferreira’s timing allowed him to repeatedly catch him coming in. Another crisp one-two from Ferreira landed late in the round as he continued to control the pace.

Quarantillo entered the final round knowing he needed a big comeback. He immediately pushed forward behind his jab and right hand, forcing Ferreira to fight off the back foot. Quarantillo eventually found his opening, securing a takedown and putting Ferreira on the canvas. Ferreira quickly scrambled, hit a switch and took Quarantillo’s back, briefly securing both hooks and landing an elbow. Quarantillo escaped and began turning up the pressure. With just over two minutes remaining, he forced Ferreira down and attacked with ground-and-pound. Ferreira stayed composed under fire and survived the late surge. Quarantillo finished the fight on top, but the earlier work from Ferreira had already put him firmly ahead on the scorecards.

Ferreira ultimately had his hand raised after three hard-fought rounds, using his experience, striking and grappling to keep Quarantillo from finding his rhythm for most of the fight. Quarantillo showed plenty of heart, especially in the final round, but it wasn’t enough to erase Ferreira’s early advantage. With the unanimous decision victory, Ferreira proved that he still had plenty left in the tank, while Quarantillo showed that his move to lightweight could make for an interesting new chapter in his UFC career.
