Although Borralho suffered a brutal defeat to Nassourdine Imavov, he has his sights set on the future.
The Brazilian was outclassed on the feet, and all five of his takedown attempts were defended by Imavov. Earlier in the night, Borralho’s Fighting Nerd teammate Mauricio Ruffy also suffered his first loss in the promotion, marking the end of what had been an incredible run for the team. The fighter took to social media to showcase his gratitude.
“Maybe defeat makes you forget. Forget the struggle to get here. The days when no one believed in you. The exhaustion. All the dedication. And the pain. Maybe defeat makes you think it was all in vain, but it wasn’t. Defeat teaches. Reveals. Builds. I’m sure defeat will shape me more than any victory.”

“It’s by falling that you learn to get up. It’s by falling that you learn to keep going, because in the end, it’s not just about winning and losing. It’s about the journey. About who you take and become in the process. And that… no defeat can take away from me. I’M COMING BACK, BOYS.”
Following his loss, Borralho also drew attention from middleweight contender Sean Strickland, who criticized him for cutting weight twice in a short span and labeled him an “idiot.” With Strickland also aiming to return to winning ways, a potential matchup between Borralho and Strickland could make a lot of sense.
