Fabian Edwards stole the spotlight at PFL 7 in Chicago Wintrust Arena. He outworks Silveira to Book Spot in PFL Middleweight Finals.

PFL 7 hosted its semifinal round of the 2025 World Tournament in Wintrust Arena , Chicago on Friday , June 27 2025 where the spotlight shines brightest on the middleweight semifinals. PFL 7 delivered fireworks from the moment fighters walked into the Wintrust Arena. In the main event, Fabian Edwards and Josh Silveira came into battle with their hearts on the line.

Fabian Edwards has already turned heads in this year’s tournament. At PFL 3 in April, he silenced doubters with a highlight-reel knockout of Impa Kasanganay a flying knee followed by ground-and-pound in the second round that sealed his ticket to the semi-finals.

Stood opposite him was Josh Silveira, a grinder known for his well-rounded game and grit. While he hasn’t had flashy finishes in the PFL yet, his solid decision win over Mike Shipman earned him a spot here in the semi-finals. Silveira is never one to be underestimated, he brings patience, pressure, and dependable wrestling to the cage.

The fight started off with Silveira going after Edwards’ legs, landing a couple of low kicks that actually swept Edwards off his feet. Edwards quickly tried to respond, throwing his own kicks and jabs. Both men were testing each other with leg attacks and quick punches. Edwards landed a clean one-two combo and followed up with a solid right hand and another low kick.

Silveira pushed forward with a combo of his own and pressed Edwards into the cage. The two fighters traded control back and forth in the octagon After being warned for grabbing the fence or gloves, they returned to the center. Edwards kept the pressure on with a right hand and another leg kick. Silveira shot for a takedown, but Edwards stayed upright and reversed the position. He even looked for a reverse triangle choke and a kimura trap, but Silveira escaped. Still, Edwards was showing his grappling skills early.

Silveira started the second round with a body kick, but Edwards answered with punches . They both landed jabs, but Edwards stuffed another takedown attempt and started controlling Silveira’s head. Edwards kept working, landing elbows and a midsection kick.

Silveira got Edwards to the cage again, but Edwards returned fire with a strong knee to the body that seemed to hurt Silveira. Silveira dropped to a knee, and Edwards went hunting for a choke. He worked to take the back and lock in control. Silveira tried to defend, but Edwards stayed on top, landing knees and elbows while maintaining dominant position. Even when they got back to their feet, Edwards kept landing punches including a big downward elbow.

The final round began with both men exchanging punches and low kicks. Edwards started to find his rhythm, landing solid right hands and targeting the body with jabs and inside combos. Silveira tried to return fire but wasn’t getting through cleanly. Edwards landed another body shot, and Silveira went back to clinch, pressing him to the fence again.


Edwards reversed and worked his way to Silveira’s back, trying to lock in hooks. He was heavy on top, controlling the grappling exchanges. Even when Silveira got back up, Edwards hit him with a big knee during the break. Moments later, a sharp left hand from Edwards wobbled Silveira!. As Silveira dropped, Edwards followed up with kicks to the legs and a dramatic axe kick. He ended the fight pressuring hard, landing elbows and threatening a choke again as time ran out.

Fabian Edwards showed grit, control, and smart striking to earn a well-deserved unanimous decision win over a tough opponent. He mixed in striking and grappling beautifully and never lost focus. With this win, Edwards officially punches his ticket to the Middleweight Finals, and the road to the PFL title just got real.
