Molina

Following his recent suspension due to a betting scandal, Jeff Molina is ready to spread his wings with another MMA promotion and hang up his gloves with the UFC.

In November 2022, the UFC suspended Molina after suspicious betting activity surfaced in a fight between his teammate Darrick Minner and Shayilan Nuerdanbieke. The betting lines shifted oddly in favor of Nuerdanbieke winning by KO before Minner’s knee gave out in a 70-second TKO loss. Minner failed to disclose his injury before the fight and received a two-year suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Molina, along with his head coach James Krause, was also suspended as part of an ongoing investigation into wagering on UFC fights, sometimes even betting on their teammates to win or lose.

Nearly three years later, Molina is still serving his suspension. He requested his release from the premier promotion in a letter to UFC Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell.

The ex-UFC flyweight contender has now signed a deal with BKFC following his release from the UFC. BKFC officials confirmed the news on Tuesday, stating that Molina is officially part of the BKFC roster.

“Talked with [David] Feldman this morning and I’m stoked,” Molina said on Monday regarding his move to BKFC.
“I’ve been to dozens of UFC events, some of the biggest cards. I went to the Sphere Show. I’ve probably been to four or five BKFC events.

Nothing compares to BKFC,” he added, speaking about the world’s largest bare-knuckle boxing promotion.
“I’m not just saying that because I recently signed. The entertainment factor is through the roof. There’s nothing more exciting. The experience is super cool. The fights are as raw as it gets.”

Although Molina has signed with BKFC, he remains ineligible to compete until his suspension ends in November.
