EARLY LIFE

The Nigerian MMA fighter Chi Attoh has competed nationally and internationally in the combat sport world and has acquired a formidable reputation. Attoh’s journey into combat sports began when her family moved to Dublin, Ireland when she was 6. She quit her day job after developing an interest in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and afterwards began training and gained a purple belt.

After that, Chi Attoh decided to pursue her dream of being a multiple-time champion of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu [BJJ] but soon found herself in the MMA world. The fighter made her first pro debut in MMA in Nigeria after returning due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before returning to her country, the 30-year-old had won multiple competitions and had gone up against some of the fiercest fighters. After coming back, she decided to go into MMA professionally. She soon found herself squaring off against some of the most formidable MMA female fighters in Nigeria.

MMA CAREER

The fighter’s acclaimed skills and techniques in the jiu-jitsu world led her to the gold medal at the Ireland National 2019 IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Champion. Afterwards, she competed in other tournaments that involved Martial arts, like Tang Soo Do and Taekwondo. She earned medals and even competed against seven-time Jiu-jitsu champion Bannon.

Attoh made her first pro-MMA debut in 2021 at the DCF 7, where she battled Jane Osigwe. Attoh won the battle by a unanimous decision after a series of grappling and strikes. Next, she faced Osigwe again at FOFN2 and again dominated her opponent.

Following this, she faced off against Terlumun in the bantamweight division at the Spirit of The Warrior. Using her special grappling technique, she locked Terlumun in an arm bar till her opponent submitted in the third round. Attoh’s last known battle was against Shauna Bannon at the CLFC in the flyweight division, but unfortunately, she lost after receiving heavy ground pounding and multiple punches. Attoh tried to remain in the fight but lost by TKO in the first round.

Attoh’s main fighting technique is grappling and wrestling due to her background in jiu-jitsu, She has been known to land deadly strikes on her opponent. The fighter competes at the flyweight and bantamweight divisions in MMA and has emerged victorious in almost all her cards.
