EARLY LIFE
The 30-year-old fighter is fast becoming a fighting sensation in the MMA industry. He is originally from Nigeria but fights from Coconut Creek, Florida. Ogbonna-Morrison is affiliated with the American Top Team and is currently ranked #166 in the USA pro middleweight. He has been in seventeen amateurs and five professional fights.
MMA CAREER
The athlete is an expert wrestler and has participated in multiple tournaments like Arena Fighting Championships, Rival Fight League, Combat Night, WCFL, LeLeoCode MMA, Freedom Fight Night, XMMA, PFL Challenger Series, and CFFC. His first amateur fight was against John Lewis, but he lost the fight after a referee stoppage due to multiple strikes in round one. Next, he battled Joseph Youmans and won the fight after a split decision in round three. Afterward, he went up against Ceasar Fermin and won the fight. Next, he faced David Bell and won the fight at the end of round three.
Soon afterward, Morrison faced Miguel Ortegano but was defeated after Ortegano won the match via split decision. Next, he faced Daniel Joseph and won the match in the third round. His next fight against David Torres saw him lose via unanimous decision. He soon faced his old-time rival Torres and finally redeemed himself after winning the game by unanimous decision.
Later, he faced Roman Faraldo and David Bell but defeated his opponents unanimously. He soon faced Brennen Proveaux-Moorefield and defeated his rival after a split decision in round three. Next, he squared off against Samuel Barbosa and lost the fight via unanimous decision. Soon afterward, he faced Micheal Bentley and the fight ended in round three by unanimous decision. David Pierre was his next opponent and won the fight after locking his opponent in a rear naked choke in round two. Next, he battled Vashawn Pope and lost the match after a unanimous decision. Ogbonna-Morrison’s first professional fight was against Tyus Thomas and he won the match after delivering a round of strikes and punches that led to a TKO in round two of the fight.
Subsequently, he defeated Brinson Ellery after landing several deadly strikes that knocked out Ellery in round one. Soon after he faced off Zac Dalen at the XMMA, middleweight division. Both opponents tried to find a break in their defenses and landed a couple of leg kicks and strikes. Ogbonna-Morrison cornered Dalen to the cage and delivered a right hand and a knee to the body. Round two began with more leg kicks and strikes, but Ogbonna backed him up to the cage with a left-right combo and delivered an elbow before Dalen slipped out.
He followed with another left-right combo, but Dalen clinched and avoided more hits. They broke off, but Dalen landed a left hook and followed with more jab combos. They continued to exchange blows, but Ogbonna-Morrison backed Dalen to the corner again and delivered knee kicks to the body. Round three began with throwing strikes that led to a TKO and a leg injury.
Next, he faced Rolan Dunlap and suffered defeat after a unanimous decision loss in round three. His last pro bout was against Isaiah Sackey-El but he lost the battle after a split decision in the final round.
