The UFC Abu Dhabi Fight card is abuzz with anticipation as it prepares to host the long-awaited return of one-time welterweight title challenger Nick Diaz and the formidable Tony Ferguson. The announcement, a thrilling revelation, was made on Wednesday morning by UFC CEO Dana White, who also confirmed Cory Sandhagen vs. Umar Nurmagomedov as the main event.

Nick Diaz, a fighter known for his resilience, has faced a challenging time at the UFC with 4 losses in his past four UFC fights. However, his last recorded win was in 2011 when he battled B.J Penn at UFC 237, a testament to his fighting spirit. Despite his recent defeat, Diaz remains on his A-game, consistently training with his brother Nate Diaz and teammates Gilbert Melendez and Jake Shields.

Diaz is set to face Vincente Luque, who recently suffered a TKO defeat at the hands of Joaquin Buckley. The battle may be a way for Luque to redeem himself after suffering a 1-3 loss in his past performance. Prior to this, the fighter had been on a winning streak and had defeated champions like Tyron Woodley and Randy Brown.

On the other hand, Ferguson will fight to break his seven-fight losing streak as he battles Micheal Chiesa. The 40-year-old hasn’t been in the ring since he faced Paddy Pimblett and might retire after this fight.
