EARLY LIFE
Gideon Emmanuel is a Nigerian MMA fighter who has competed in national tournaments and has battled fierce opponents. The athlete has been in four professional fights and has remained on top of his game since his MMA debut in 2021.
MMA CAREER
His first MMA debut was at WSC 6, where he battled Jackiel Ayana. The two came into the cage with lots of energy, and Gideon scored a takedown a few minutes into the opening round. Fortunately, Ayana recovered quickly and was back on his feet, punch-swinging and maintaining his defenses. Ayana finally saw an opening and scored a takedown before locking Emmanuel in a rear naked choke that saw him submit, leaving Ayana victorious in this match.
After his loss, Emmanuel went on to battle Sodiq Mohammed at the WSC 7. The opponents were at their best, throwing jabs and punches, but Emmanuel proved to be the better fighter after Mohammed submitted in the second round.
Next, he faced off against Uchejim Onyeka at the OFU Fight Night. Gideon came into the cage enthusiastically, but things soon went sideways after receiving blows and deadly strikes from his opponent. Emmanuel tried to stay in the fight but lost the battle after a takedown and heavy ground pound that knocked him out in round three.
Later on. he was up against John Ifeanyi at the NMMAF: Spirit of the Warrior tournament. Emmanuel put up a good fight and kept Ifeanyi in a tight spot with his barrage of blows. His persistence paid off when he finally won the bout via TKO in the first round.
His last recorded fight was against David Ohis at Sika Fight Club [SFC 003], featherweight division. The fight began with an exchange of leg kicks before Emmanuel scored a take down in round two and pummeled his opponent with a ground and pound that led to a TKO.
