Roberto Soldic enters free agency. Roberto Soldic has officially entered free agency after his contract with ONE Championship expired, opening the door for one of European MMA’s most dangerous finishers to begin the next chapter of his career.
The 31-year-old Croatian, known as “Robocop,” announced his departure from the Singapore-based promotion in a heartfelt message to his fans. Soldic thanked ONE Championship for the opportunity and reflected on the lessons and memories he collected during his time with the promotion.
“Thank you for the journey,” Soldic wrote in a statement posted on social media. “My time with ONE has come to an end as my contract has officially expired. I want to thank ONE Championship from the bottom of my heart for the opportunity and the incredible experience. Every fight, every challenge, and every moment inside the cage has pushed me to become a better warrior and a better person.
“I’ve gained more than just fights — I’ve gained knowledge, respect, and memories that will last a lifetime. To my fans, thank you for your unconditional support through every high and low. You are the reason I keep fighting. This is not the end. This is the beginning of what’s next. See you soon.”
Soldic’s four-year stint with ONE did not produce the long run many expected when he signed with the promotion in 2022. He competed just three times in MMA during that period, recording a highlight-reel victory over Dagi Arslanaliev, a no-contest against Murad Ramazanov, and a knockout loss to Zebaztian Kadestam. Despite the limited number of MMA appearances, Soldic remained one of the most recognizable European fighters outside the UFC. Before joining ONE, he had built a terrifying reputation in KSW, winning titles at both welterweight and middleweight. He went 8-1 during his KSW run, with his only defeat coming against Dricus Du Plessis before avenging that loss with a knockout victory.
Now, with his ONE contract officially behind him, the biggest question is where “Robocop” will fight next. At 31, Soldic remains in a valuable stage of his career, with championship experience, knockout power and an established reputation across European MMA. His free-agency status could attract interest from several major promotions looking to add an experienced and dangerous welterweight or middleweight to their roster.
For Soldic, however, this appears to be less about looking back and more about moving forward. After thanking ONE Championship and his supporters, he described his departure as the beginning of a new chapter rather than the end.
And with “Robocop” officially back on the market, the MMA world will be watching closely to see where the former two-division KSW champion lands next.
