UFC bantamweight fighter Casey Kenny was arrested on August 16 after being charged with kidnapping and multiple assaults.

Kenny was arrested on domestic violence allegations by Phoenix Apprehension detectives and taken to the station, where he was booked on kidnapping and aggravated assault charges. He has since been in custody but made a court appearance on Saturday.

According to reports, this is not the first time the fighter has been accused of violence. Phoenix police confirmed that a domestic abuse incident was first reported on Instagram by the victim’s mother. However, no serious action was taken until recently.

The police were notified after they located “an adult female victim with some visible abrasions reporting a domestic violence assault. The female was treated by paramedics and interviewed by investigators. No contact was made with the suspect at that time. This case is still active.”

A statement from Phoenix police revealed that the police responded to a domestic violence call. Paramedics were also on the scene to treat the victim.

“Between the dates of 7-21-2024 at approximately 11:00 p.m. and 7-22-24 at approximately 12:14 a.m. while at the single-family residence located at [address redacted], [suspect] Casey Kenney committed kidnapping, aggravated assault by strangulation and assault against [victim] Jasmine Mendez by repeatedly striking, slapping, biting, headbutting and choking [victim] Jasmine for several hours resulting in abrasions to Jasmine’s lip and discoloration to Jasmine’s arms and petechiae to Jasmine’s neck.

“Furthermore, during the 13 hours at Casey Kenney’s residence, Jasmine was incapable of escaping the residence due to Casey routinely grabbing hold of Jasmine and holding her in place during her attempts while threatening to cause more physical harm. Casey Kenney advised Jasmine Mendez that if anyone shows up he will shoot them and if her mother shows up he will shoot her in the head. Jasmine Mendez stated she desires prosecution in this matter at this time.”

The police also revealed that Kenney repeatedly struck, slapped, bit, head-butted, and choked the victim over 13 hours while holding her hostage in his home. He also allegedly threatened to kill her if anyone showed up requesting for her.
Kenney is currently facing four misdemeanor counts, three assaults, and one disorderly conduct. The fighter has been out of the cage since his loss to Song Yadong in 2021.

During his professional career, Kenny competed eight times in the UFC and also at Dana White’s Contender series in 2017.

The fighter has been off social media since his last fight. He is currently tagged as “not fighting” in the UFC rankings. He has yet to make any comments, and further investigations are still ongoing.
