Torres and Dober

Manuel Torres delivered the biggest win of his career in a stunning performance, knocking out Drew Dober in the first round of the UFC Mexico co-main event.

The Mexican standout wasted no time, using his height and reach advantage. Dober on the other hand remained patient and cautious but his opponent had other ideas in mind. Torres came in hot with straight punches that Dober tried to block but to no avail. His opponent soon set up a devastating left-right combination. that sent Dober crashing to the canvas.

As soon as Dober hit the ground, Torres pounced, unleashing a relentless barrage of hammer fists preventing Dober from getting back up until referee Mike Beltran mercifully stepped in at just 1:45 of the opening round.

In a bizarre moment, Dober instinctively jumped back to his feet after the stoppage, unaware he had been knocked out cold—a testament to the sheer force of Torres’ precision striking.

“I do this all for you,” Torres shouted to the crowd. “I wouldn’t be able to do this without all of you. It was quick. Hey Dana [White], you know where it’s at.”

Torres

Following his loss, Dober praised Torres for his striking on X.

“Well, that sucked. A beautifully timed one two by Manuel Torres. There’s not much to go off of other than, unfortunately, stepping in front of the rear hand of a long power puncher.”

This loss marked Dober’s third consecutive defeat in the promotion. In his last five fights, Dober has managed to secure just one victory, which came in October 2023 against Ricky Glenn

For Torres, the victory puts him back on track after a previous loss to Ignacio Bahamondes and moves him to 4-1 in the UFC. With his explosive power and killer instinct, Torres just made it clear—he’s a serious threat in the lightweight division.
