Tyson Fury is clearly entertained by Anthony Joshua’s tough talk ahead of his upcoming clash with Jake Paul, and he isn’t holding back with his response.
At a media roundtable earlier this week, Joshua raised eyebrows when he spoke about how seriously he intends to take Paul, declaring, “If I can kill you, I will kill you.” The former two-time heavyweight champion has the knockout power to match the bravado, having recently stopped ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou in emphatic fashion.
Still, Tyson Fury isn’t buying it. The former heavyweight king, whose half-brother Tommy Fury handed Paul his only professional loss in 2023, brushed off Joshua’s comments as desperate promotion.
“I think, you know what, [Joshua is] a little bit long in the tooth to be talking s— like that,” Fury said on his Instagram Stories. “He’s 37 years old, at the end of his career, fighting a YouTuber, a Disney Channel guy, who Tommy beat, and now he’s talking about killing him and all that to try and sell. Please. Barking up the wrong tree, idiot.”
Fury didn’t stop there, escalating his verbal assault with a not-so-subtle reminder of who he believes still runs the heavyweight conversation.
“Here’s a fun fact: if I ever come across you, bum, I’m knocking you dead spark out,” Fury added. “I ain’t a YouTuber or a man half your size. I am him. The man.”
Jake Paul, meanwhile, continues to split opinion within combat sports. Since turning professional in 2020, the 28-year-old has invested heavily in his boxing career while selecting opponents with major name recognition. His résumé includes bouts against former champions, MMA stars, and crossover athletes, drawing massive attention but also criticism from hardcore fight fans.

Joshua enters Friday’s bout looking to rebound from a brutal knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in September 2024. While it marked just the fourth defeat of his career, Fury believes that setback revealed a fighter nearing the end.
“You’re a classless loser, coming off a 15-month knockout defeat to a local lad,” Fury continued. “Imagine if someone from Morecambe knocked me out. You big bum useless dosser. Get up. And I can’t wait if Jake Paul knocks you spark out.”
Despite announcing his retirement following back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk, Tyson Fury’s name continues to hover around the heavyweight scene. Rumors of a long-awaited showdown with Joshua refuse to die, even with Fury insisting he’s done.
For now, though, Fury is content watching from the sidelines as Joshua prepares to deal with Jake Paul in Miami. Whether the trash talk backfires or fuels another statement win remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Tyson Fury is enjoying every second of the chaos.
