Conor McGregor promises the ‘World Is in for a Treat’ after major lifestyle changes. Conor McGregor says he has been “saved” and is preparing for a fresh start. He believes fans will soon see a different version of him. McGregor has been out of competition since July 2021, when he suffered a broken leg in his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. Since then, he has teased multiple returns but none have materialised into a confirmed booking.

The UFC’s official drug-testing partner, Combat Sports Anti-Doping, recently confirmed that McGregor is serving an 18-month suspension after failing to properly report his whereabouts on three separate occasions. Despite the setback, the 37-year-old BKFC part-owner has confirmed that he will return to action, and during a BKFC press conference in Italy on Thursday, he spoke openly about the lifestyle changes he claims to have made during his time away from competition.

“For sure, I am not here just by chance,” McGregor said. “There is a higher power, God, that dictates my journey and all of our journeys, and I live my life by God’s word. Since around that time that you mentioned at that last event, I’ve engaged in a spiritual journey, and I’m saved. I am healed. On the back of that, the world is in for a treat. My competitive spark that was once in my heart is now a roaring blaze, so I’m very excited.” “I’m eager to get back and right now I have to dial myself in and go inward and that I’ve done. I’m very, very excited to come back my own self.”

While McGregor did not reveal full details of the changes, the tone of his message points to a renewed level of discipline and commitment ahead of his UFC return. Despite the growing optimism from the McGregor camp, the UFC has not officially confirmed his comeback fight or timeline. UFC President Dana White has repeatedly said the organisation will only schedule him when he is fully prepared and medically cleared to compete.

BKFC founder David Feldman also spoke at Thursday’s press conference, praising McGregor for the unspecified changes and touting McGregor’s potential UFC comeback. “A lot of people in the world need to make changes in their life and they don’t because they don’t have the guts to, they don’t have the balls to, they don’t have the fortitude to, and I just want to take this time to take my hat off and commend Conor McGregor for making the kinds of changes he had to make,” Feldman said. “It’s not easy and you’re going to see the best Conor McGregor you’ve ever seen when he returns to the octagon.”

For now, McGregor insists he is a changed man and that his best days are still ahead of him. Whether this transformation truly marks a fresh start will only be proven when he finally returns to active competition. Until then, the world can only watch and wait.
