Paul Hughes finally got a chance to redeem himself at the PFL Belfast as he won the audience cheers with his spectacular win over Bruno Miranda.
Prior to his win, Hughes has had been on a loss skid and had recently suffered a decision loss to Usman Nurmagomedov. Since his loss, the Irish fighter has been on the track to redeem himself and he finally got his opportunity as he stepped into the cage to face Brazillian fighter Bruno Miranda. The crowd was largely on Hughes side as he stepped into the SSE Arena in Belfast. Hughes took advantage of the momentum and moved forward with precision and confidence.
He landed a sharp hook and kick in the early round that dropped Miranda in less that 42 seconds into the bout. He followed through with a ground-and-pound forcing the referee to step in and end the fight.
Following this win, Hughes immediately called out his former rivals, Usman Nurmagomedov.
“Usman Nurmagomedov! You can run, you can try to delay this rematch as long as you want, but your day is f*cking coming!”
