EARLY LIFE
Orlando Machava’s career is a testament to his versatility and adaptability. He has faced a diverse range of opponents, from seasoned fighters to newcomers in his fifteen amateur fights and ten professional bouts. This breadth of experience has undoubtedly shaped him into the formidable athlete he is today.
MMA CAREER
Machava’s first amateur fight was Cage Wars Evolution where he faced Tyler Ormandy and won following a rear naked choke. Machava had his consecutive fight at the Fightstar FC where he went up against Thumelo Ramafoko and defeated him via split decision. After this, he faced defeat at the hands of Elbert Lukas Steyn after suffering a flurry of punches that led to a TKO in round one. He soon lost his next match to Steven Goncalves following a unanimous decision. Next, he was defeated by Aly Kalambay after getting destroyed by a round of heavy punches.
Despite facing setbacks, Machava’s spirit remained unbroken. He continued to fight, this time against Johannes Rudolph, and emerged victorious with a unanimous decision. His next opponent was Katiso Matime, whom he dominated with a rear naked choke in round two. However, he faced defeat at the hands of Chukwumo Okoli after a TKO in the first round. Yet, he quickly redeemed himself by defeating Godknows Ndlovu with a rear naked choke move in round one.
Soon after, he faced Daniel Duda but suffered defeat when a flurry of blows knocked him out in round one. Machava soon faced Asiashu Tshitamba but was dominated after a TKO. Subsequently, he went up against Lecture Ntshangase and Katiso Matime and won the fights via TKO and a rear naked choke respectively. Nkosi Ndebele was his next opponent but he lost the fight to a unanimous decision. Machava made his EFC debut at EFC Worldwide 82; his last amateur fight against Stephan De La Rey. Unfortunately, he lost the battle in round one after suffering a flurry of strikes.
The fighter did not allow this EFC debut loss to distract him as he made his professional debut at the EFC Worldwide 76. He went up against Devon Cronje and lost the fight following a guillotine choke in round one. Next, he faced Asiashu Tshitamba and lost the match after a KO in the second round. The fighter finally tasted his first victory since his debut when he faced Danie Swart after defeating his opponent in a rear naked choke in round two. After this, he defeated Javan Buyu by trapping him in an armbar which led to his submission in the opening round.
Successively, Machava battled Roevan De Beer and lost the fight after getting trapped in a guillotine choke that led to a submission in the first round. Next, he defeated Eduardo Barros and lost following a unanimous decision. After that, he fought Sizwe Mnkathi and lost the battle to a rear naked choke in round one. His last recorded fight was against Martin Gcinumkhondo at the EFC 97. However, he lost the fight following a KO in round two.
