Olympic gold medalist Kyle Snyder was recently arrested during a prostitution sting. Following his arrest, the wrestler pleaded guilty to lesser charges during a court appearance on Monday.

Snyder’s attorney, Eric Hoffman, revealed that he would plead guilty to disorderly conduct, a fourth-degree misdemeanor. The court granted Snyder permission to appear virtually, and his hearing is scheduled for Monday.
In Ohio, a fourth-degree misdemeanor carries a penalty of up to 30 days in jail or a fine of up to $250.

Snyder was one of 16 men arrested after Columbus Police conducted a sting operation targeting prostitution. Officers posted an online escort ad, and Snyder allegedly responded with calls and texts before arriving at a local hotel, where he paid an undercover officer for oral sex.

Police arrested him without incident, issued charges, and released him at the scene.

The popular wrestler, who has competed in the past three Olympic Games and earned both a gold and silver medal, addressed the arrest publicly for the first time on social media.

“I want to thank everyone who has reached out with kindness and support,” Snyder wrote. “My focus is on my relationship with the Lord Jesus and my family. This is not the conclusion of my journey.”

Snyder is currently scheduled to wrestle next on June 14 as part of the Final X series, which determines who will represent the United States at the Wrestling World Championships.
