EARLY LIFE

The athlete’s first interaction with combat sports was at age 12 when he started learning Karate. He soon transitioned to Taekwondo, but he became interested in MMA shortly after going to college and started training. Bamgbose is also skilled in Muay Thai, BJJ, and Kung Fu.

He started his amateur career in 2012 and fought in three matches before making his pro debut in 2013. Since then, the athlete has competed in ten MMA battles.

MMA CAREER

Bamgbose is currently a UFC fighter but before this, he battled in various tournaments like New Jersey Regional, Gold Medal MMA, Ring of Combat, UFC Fight Night, and Rockin’ Fights.

At his first amateur bout, Bamgbose faced off Jesse Pew and won the fight after a TKO in round one. Next, he battled Casey Van Brookhoven, and won this fight following a third-round unanimous decision. His winning streak came to an end after he faced Tim Lutke and lost the fight after a unanimous decision.

His professional debut saw him go toe-to-toe with Fikret Darzanoff, and he won this match after firing precise deadly strikes, which led to Darzanoff’s submission in round one. Next, he faced Michael Elshamy and destroyed his opponent in a first-round knockout.

Following this win, Bamgbose went on to conquer his next opponent, Steve Nichols, after a TKO in round one. Later, he faced off Bam Morris and completely destroyed him after delivering a head kick that led to a first-round TKO .

Next up, he took on Brian Booth and came in swinging a punishing upper right hand and a left jab that took the air out of Booth. Bamgbose continued to land more strikes, but Booth went for a takedown. Unfortunately, he didn’t complete the takedown and ended up on the floor, where Bamgbose landed hammer fists before the first round came to a close with a TKO.

Afterwards, he faced Uriah Hall, and his unbeatable-five first-round knockout came to an end after his opponent wrestled him to the canvas and continued with a ground pound that led to his defeat. He soon recovered from this defeat when he faced Daniel Sarafin and took his opponent down in round one with a head kick followed by hammer fists.

Following this, he faced Brazilian striker Cezar Ferreira and lost the fight after a unanimous decision. Next, he went up against Paulo Costa and lost the fight after a knockout in round two. His last recorded MMA fight was against Alessio Di Chirico, but he also lost this bout following a knee to the body, leading to a TKO in round two.

The fighter competed in a boxing match against Emmanuel Étienne, and he lost the fight after a TKO in round three of four rounds. Next, he faced Étienne again but couldn’t redeem himself and lost the fight.
