EARLY LIFE
Matala Ambamba began combat sport at age 6 when he decided to training in jiu-jitsu and kickboxing. After sometime he transitioned to MMA due to the versatility. One of his source of inspiration is Brock Lesnar who is a superstar wrestler and mixed martial artist. The athlete has been in four professional fights in his career and four amateur bouts.
MMA CAREER
The fighter has competed in various MMA tournaments like Rise of the Warrior, Fightstar FC, and EFC Worldwide. Ambamba’s first amateur fight was against Sasha Oock, and they won after a round one TKO. Next, he faced Yemansai Bonunga and won following a unanimous decision. His next opponent was Brendan Lesar and he lost the battle after a rear naked choke in round two. Afterward, he squared up against Gunther Kalunda Ngunza and lost following a unanimous decision.
Ambamba finally made his professional debut when he fought Stefan Pretorius and lost following a triangle choke in round one.
