EARLY LIFE
Fafa Dwama is a seasoned judo blackbelt fighter who began his transition into MMA in 2010. The athlete is ranked #11 in South Africa’s pro flyweight. He has been in four amateur bouts and nine professional fights.
MMA CAREER
Dwama’s journey in MMA began with the Cape Fight League and African Pride FC during his amateur round, where he showcased his potential. His first amateur fight was a tough battle against Sipho Mode, which he lost following a rear naked choke in the opening round. Undeterred, he faced Shane Daames and, despite another loss due to a rear naked choke in round one, he continued to persevere. His determination paid off when he triumphed over Allesandro Jude Simpson with a TKO in round one.His last recorded amateur match was a testament to his skills, as he emerged victorious against Storm Willis via unanimous decision.
He made his pro debut at EFC Worldwide 69, facing Dansheel Moodley and losing the fight after a unanimous decision. Next, he faced Mzamo Madlopha and won the battle by unanimous decision. Afterward, he faced Asiashu Tshitamba and defeated his opponent in a unanimous decision. Following this, he won his next battle against Themba Mkhize after a split decision by the judges.
Continuing his MMA journey, Dwama faced Sylvester Chipfumbu in his next fight. The match took an unexpected turn when an illegal kick in round two led to his victory.
