EARLY LIFE
Emmanuel Onoja has been an active competitor in the Nigerian MMA world and has been in the MMA industry for twelve years. He has competed in national and international fights and had his first limelight fight at the AKO show. Onoja has competed in four MMA fights, one amateur and three professional.
MMA CAREER
Onoja has been in tournaments like Cage Warriors, WSC series and FOFN.His first amateur fight saw him go up against Tunisian fighter Saanouni Makrem. After feints and circling, Makrem went in for the kill and body-slammed Onoja, but the Nigerian fighter quickly switched positions.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t maintain this position and got flipped over. The second round began with both opponents tagging each other before Onoja had Makem on the ground and delivered hammer fists that led the referee to end the match, leaving Onoja the winner via TKO.
Next, he faced Christophe Choteau at his first professional bout and won the match. Soon after, he faced Ivorian fighter Tessia Tali and won the game after landing punches and strikes that led to Tali’s submission in round one.
His last recorded fight was against Richard Muzaan at FOFN, where he delivered high leg kicks to the head in the opening round. Onoja teased Muzaan to take down his defense, but Muzaan remained focused but soon suffered a shocking attack after getting body slammed. He tried to land a deadly blow to the head, but Muzaan put him in a guillotine choke, but he couldn’t maintain it, and Onoja slipped through. The “Man of Steel” managed to get on his feet and lock Muzaan in a headlock which he slipped through.
Round two started with a beautiful takedown by Muzaan. Still, Onoja returned with a flying blow and a takedown before delivering a ground pound in round three. Muzaan managed to stay on the offense and ward off Onoja’s attacks. The fight finally ended in round three, with Onoja as the winner via split decision.
