The Nigerian-born fighter Emmanuel Bernard is a fearless opponent in every battle he has been in and has proven himself a worthy rival. He is a current affiliate of RF Management. Before his MMA career, Emmanuel Bernard was a former corporal in the Nigerian Police Force. The fighter listed Kamaru Usman as his role model in MMA and aspires to become the face of MMA in Nigeria one day. Bernard is a fierce MMA fighter and shows no sign of backing down.
MMA CAREER
The fighter has been in several MMA tournaments, including Lome Fight Night International, OFU Fight Night, FOFN 1, 2 & 3, and AKO 1 & 2. Bernard’s first bout was against Ivorian fighter Alain Tano at the Lome Fight Night 4, featherweight category. Although the fighter put on a good show, he unfortunately lost the battle after receiving deadly jabs and punches that knocked him out in the first round.
Next, he faced off against Ghanaian fighter Samuel Nkoum. The two fighters began the round, tagging each other and throwing punches that didn’t quite hit the mark. Nkoum went for a takedown and proceeded to clinch to Bernard, who delivered body shots, causing Nkoum to let go. The two seemed like an evenly matched pair with equally sufficient skills, but Bernard was declared the winner after the third round via unanimous decision.
Later on, he faced off against Egyptian fighter Hassan Mandour. The Egyptian came in with swinging punches and went for a body slam before pummeling Bernard in a heavy ground pound. Immediately, Bernard reversed the position and delivered a right jab that put Mandour to sleep in the third round, earning Bernard a win and also the OFU championship belt. Following this, he went up against Togolese fighter Fred Kudzele at the Lome Fight Night International. He won the bout unanimously in round three after multiple hits and an unsuccessful takedown.
Bernard’s next battle was at the FOFN2, where he faced Jackiel Ayana. Ayana came in with loads of energy, swinging, kicking, and almost committing a foul. The round balanced out, and Bernard came to life. After going for a takedown and heavy ground pound, Bernard finished off with a guillotine choke. This move led to Ayana’s submission in the first round.
After his win against Ayana, he faced off against Congolese fighter Josias Musasa and lost the fight in the opening round after receiving fatal hits to the face and midsection.
Successively, Bernard faced off Essohanam Katcho and exchanged multiple blows before Bernard scored a takedown. He served some heavy ground pounding that led to Katcho’s submission in round one. Finally, his last recorded bout was against Gasmire Diatta. Unfortunately, he lost the fight in less than a minute after receiving a fatal left hook that knocked him out.
