Balelo

EFC 114 was a night to remember, as the event held an entertaining line-up of fights for MMA fans. The tournament was headlined by Terence Balelo vs. Liridon Ramini. The Belgian-born police officer was left confused after ‘Black Panther’ had his opponent out of the match with a guillotine choke.

Balelo—the interim Bantamweight champion—transitioned to compete for the flyweight title. The athlete was originally set to battle Tumelo Manyamala, but his opponent was forced to forfeit after he suffered an injury. Following this accident, The EFC replaced him with the Belgian fighter Ramini.

The fight started with the Belgian attempting to submit Balelo. He had Balelo in an armbar, but his opponent managed to fight out of it and get back on his feet. Ramani tried to make a Balelo tap out, but ‘Black Panther’ soon had his opponent in a guillotine choke. Balelo is set to face Nkazimulo after this win, which makes him a contender for the flyweight championship.

The tournament also featured other amazing showdowns, like the featherweight division battle between Simbarashe Hokonya and Ayanda Zwane, which left Hokonya victorious by unanimous decision. Peace Nguphane was up against Congolese fighter Jerry Kambata in the welterweight division. Nguphane defeated Kamabata via TKO in the first round.

Hanru Botha put up a good fight in the Lightweight division of EFC 114 and dominated Osvaldo Benedito with a TKO in the second round. Last on the main card was the flyweight division battle between Willie Van Rooyen and Vuyo Jula. After a relentless battle and barrage of punches, Jula suffered defeat by TKO.
