EA Sports boxing is back, as the gaming giant has officially confirmed the return of its beloved Fight Night franchise after a 15-year hiatus.
Boxing fans have waited years for a new instalment of the popular video game series, which last released Fight Night Champion in 2011. Now, EA Sports has finally given fans a reason to celebrate by confirming that the franchise will return.
Combat sports gaming has largely revolved around the EA Sports UFC series in recent years, with the developer continuing to release new instalments. However, Fight Night once dominated the boxing gaming scene, giving players the chance to step into the ring with some of the sport’s biggest names.
Reports about a potential Fight Night reboot surfaced in 2024, but concerns about development delays left fans wondering whether the project would ever see the light of day.

EA Sports has now put those concerns to rest, although the company has yet to reveal a release date or additional details about the upcoming game.
EA Sports announced the return of its boxing franchise in a social media post on Tuesday, confirming that the long-awaited reboot remains in the works.
“To everyone who stayed in our corner: Fight Night is coming back,” the company announced.
The statement immediately generated excitement among boxing fans who have spent more than a decade waiting for a new game.
The last instalment, Fight Night Champion, arrived in 2011 with fictional boxer Andre Bishop as its cover athlete. The game earned a strong following for its boxing mechanics, career mode and realistic presentation, helping cement the franchise’s reputation as one of the best combat sports gaming series.
However, EA Sports has yet to share details about the upcoming reboot, including its gameplay features, roster, platforms or expected launch date.
The announcement comes after the developer continued to expand its UFC gaming franchise. With the latest UFC instalment already released, the return of Fight Night could give EA Sports an opportunity to re-establish its presence in the boxing gaming market.
