UFC star Conor McGregor has launched an appeal against the high court judgment that he sexually assaulted Nikita Hand in a Dublin hotel in 2018.

In November 2024, a jury ruled in favor of Nkita Hand, who former two-division champion Conor McGregor allegedly assaulted. The athlete was found guilty and ordered to pay $257,000 in damages. The fighter has consistently denied these allegations and has come out to challenge this ruling. McGregor and his team have appealed to Irish courts to overturn the verdict.

The appeal, filed last Friday, challenges the plaintiff’s request for damages and additional costs for purchasing a civil case against him. Since the ruling on this case, McGregor has suffered multiple backlash as he has been dropped from retail companies in the UK and Ireland.

The company he founded—Proper No Twelve Irish Whiskey—announced that it no longer intended to use McGregor’s name in its marketing. Video game developer Hitman: World of Assassination has also removed all the fighter’s likeness from its video game.

In addition to this charge, another victim has come out to press charges against the fighter for sexual assault. The anonymous victim filed for assault last month in the Southern District of Florida and named Basketball Properties LLC as a co-defendant. The legal action charged the staffs for gross negligence by permitting the fighter to get excessively drunk, thereby failing to maintain a safe environment.

McGregor, 36, has not competed in the UFC since a July 2021 loss to Dustin Poirier, during which he suffered a broken leg. He was scheduled to return against Michael Chandler in June at UFC 303 but ultimately withdrew from the bout due to a fractured toe.
