It seems retired MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko may be making a comeback as BKFC part owner and UFC star Conor McGregor teases about signing the ex-fighter.
The Irishman made this announcement during a press conference in Italy to promote BKFC’s event in April. McGregor was compared to legendary fighters Royce Gracie and Fedor Emelianenko which brought a smile to the ex-champ’s face. He took this as an opportunity to plead with the Russian legend to come out of retirement and join the BKFC.
“Fedor Emelianenko?” McGregor said. “Stay tuned, we might have some announcements with Fedor Emelianenko. Hey Fedor, we’re waiting. Some news might be coming with Fedor Emelianenko. Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship is signing and acquiring the best fighters of all time, past, present, and future, and everyone wants to be a part of this.”

“Yes. Yes. The warrior spirit burns strong inside me,” McGregor said. “For sure. If you think I’m up here giving these speeches and leading these men into battle and I won’t step in there myself, think again. For sure. Conor McGregor will fight in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship – mark my words.”
“There are many bouts, showcase bouts you could say. Michael Perry, Mike Perry. You could say, Jeremy Stephens. You could say a rematch against Eddie Alvarez. You could say many matches. But the lightweight title, who is the champion right now, lightweight or welterweight? Let’s see. I’m open. We’ll see when it comes.”
BKFC has attracted several MMA stars to compete in the ring, including former UFC champion Eddie Alvarez and former UFC stars Mike Perry, Jeremy Stephens, Ben Rothwell, Paige VanZant, Bec Rawlings, and Thiago Alves.
