Belal Muhammad doesn’t mind a bit of back-and-forth with Ian Machado Garry, even if he has to let AI handle the dirty work.
Both welterweight contenders Belal Muhammad and Ian Garry are waiting on a matchup that could earn them a shot at title contention. The former champ is working his way back after dropping the title to Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 315. Garry, on the other hand, is looking to break into the title shot for the first time following a rebound win over Carlos Prates.
In a recent Instagram post, Garry tried to turn up the heat by calling out Muhammad, urging him to stop chasing a fight with Kamaru Usman and meet him instead at UFC 319 in Chicago.
“Belal Muhammad is continuing to call out Kamaru Usman,” Garry said. “Kamaru Usman has said himself that he’s not fighting anytime soon. So why does he keep calling him out? Because he’s avoiding me. He’s now started to mention Sean Brady’s name again, a man who he’s already knocked out. Imagine calling out someone you’ve already knocked out.
“Had Bella beat ‘JDM,’ he would be fighting me in his hometown of Chicago. So do the right thing. Don’t let your hometown down and accept the fight in Chicago. I’ll see you soon.”
Muhammad didn’t hesitate to fire back. In true Bella Muhammad fashion, he handed Garry a sharp-tongued roast that had social media buzzing. However, in a twist, he revealed his savage comeback came from ChatGPT.
“Ian Garry out here trying to do Conor cosplay with Dollar Tree trash talk,” Muhammad wrote. “Bro, your lines hit softer than your jab. You sound like a teenager who just discovered McGregor highlight reels. You want to outbox me? Try out-talking me first without embarrassing yourself.
“Until then, go back to rehearsing in the mirror maybe one day your trash talk will be as sharp as your barber’s fade.”
The crowd went wild. UFC fans flooded the comments, praising Muhammad’s creativity and humor.
“Dang bro I’m gonna need you to chill on dropping fire in my brother’s driveway like that.”

“Belal is becoming funnier every day.”
“10-7 ChatGPT.”
“I’m starting to like Belal Decision Muhammad.”
“Belal’s got such good trash talk it doesn’t even appear human at times.”
Since losing the title, Belal Muhammad has stayed loud and visible in the welterweight mix. He’s been pressing for a showdown with Usman, especially after the former champ picked up a big win at UFC Atlanta. But now, Garry’s push to get into the picture has shaken things up.
He’s accused Muhammad of ducking him and playing politics with matchups. Garry claims he said “yes” to two UFC offers and even accepted a fight with Sean Brady, though nothing has been made official. Still, his target is clear, even if Muhammad isn’t taking the callout too seriously, he made it known he’s listening and willing to respond with flair, even if the bars are AI-generated.
As the welterweight division continues to shuffle, one thing’s certain, Belal Muhammad isn’t letting anyone talk their way past him.
