Lightweight fighter Dan Hooker is set to battle Mateusz Gamrot at the UFC 305, and he promises an exhilarating fight. The event will occur on Saturday at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia.

The fighters have had an impressive fighter career, with Hooker having a [23-12 MMA] record and Gamrot with a [24-2] record. Hooker has had a two-fight win streak defeating Claudio Puelles and Jalin Turner, while his opponent Gamrot has had a three-fight winning streak.

Hooker is pretty excited about this match-up and plans on giving it the best he’s got.

“I love it, brother,” Hooker said of the matchup. “I love that sexy little number he’s got next to his name. That’s what I’m coming for.

“They’ll have to [fight me if I win]. That completely changes the direction. A lot of the big names in the division are all coming off losses, [Charles] Oliveira, [Dustin] Poirier, [Justin] Gaethje, [Michael] Chandler — all of these guys are going to want something I have, which is going to be a three-fight win streak.”

Despite his eagerness to get into the cage, the fight may not prove as easy as Hooker thinks. Gamrot is currently ranked #5 in the lightweight ranking and is regarded as one of the best in the world. Although the fighter has a good finishing record, “Gamer” last couple of fights have been decision fights left to the scorecards. Before this, he had won four performance bonuses. However, Hooker believes he will be the one to end the his opponent.

“God no, I’m going to make it exciting,” Hooker said when asked if Gamrot will try to be more exciting this weekend. “That’s why they put this fight together. They were like, ‘Who can drag it out of him?’ I will press that action.”

“Who else is there?” Hooker said. “The only other guys — you ain’t getting a title shot off a loss. If you want to be next in line, you’re going to have to [win]. What now, Arman is next in line? Who is after that? The title fight is booked, who is after that? The winner of this weekend is the next guy.”

This is going to be the most exciting fight Gamrot’s ever been in. Let me just say that. That’s not gonna be because of him. That’s gonna be because they locked him in a cage with me.”

On the other hand, his opponent–Gamrot–had a different idea of how the bout would go.

“I know that I can beat him (Dan Hooker) only with my wrestling. But I know this time I need to give a more entertaining fight. I want to finish him on the ground. But of course, this is mixed martial arts. In the beginning, you fight on the feet. I need to put my hands to him. I want to give a really good fight. And I know I am number five in the rankings. If I want to fight for the belt in the future, I need to finish him.”
