Jasmine Jasudavicius delivers a statement performance against Erin Blanchfield in the co-main event of UFC Edmonton, using relentless grappling and positional control to secure a unanimous decision victory.
Before the main event, Erin Blanchfield and Jasmine Jasudavicius square off in a highly anticipated women’s flyweight clash at UFC Fight Night: Buckley vs. Malott on Saturday, October 17, at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Canada.
Blanchfield enters the contest on a two-fight winning streak, having bounced back from her unanimous decision loss to Manon Fiorot in March 2024. She defeated former UFC strawweight champion Rose Namajunas by unanimous decision in November 2024 before submitting Tracy Cortez via rear-naked choke in the second round at UFC 322 in November 2025. The American look to extend her winning run and strengthen her position among the division’s top contenders.

Jasudavicius, meanwhile, is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Karine Silva on April 18, 2026 at UFC Winnipeg. The win followed a first-round TKO loss to Manon Fiorot in October 2025. The Canadian had previously recorded an impressive first-round submission victory over former UFC strawweight champion Jessica Andrade at UFC 315 in May 2025. With Blanchfield riding a two-fight winning streak and Jasudavicius looking to build on her latest victory, both women have plenty at stake heading into this matchup.
Blanchfield opens with short punches as she looks to establish her striking rhythm. Jasudavicius responds by changing levels and securing a takedown, but Blanchfield quickly works back to her feet. Jasudavicius maintains the body lock and drags her opponent back to the canvas before taking her back. She establishes a body triangle and begins hunting for a rear-naked choke. Blanchfield defends intelligently, controlling one of Jasudavicius’ wrists to prevent the submission. However, she remains trapped in a difficult position for much of the round as Jasudavicius maintains back control. Jasudavicius’ grappling pressure and submission attempts give her the edge in the opening round.

Blanchfield looks to respond immediately, pushing forward for a takedown and driving Jasudavicius toward the fence. She follows with punches, but Jasudavicius answers with a clean counter and changes levels for a single-leg takedown. Jasudavicius brings Blanchfield down and once again works toward taking her back. Blanchfield keeps her hips low to prevent the position, leading to a scramble between the two flyweights. Jasudavicius eventually secures another body triangle and threatens the rear-naked choke. Blanchfield defends the submission, but Jasudavicius switches to an arm-triangle choke and uses the position to advance into full mount late in the round.
Blanchfield comes out aggressively, knowing she needs a strong final round to turn the fight around. She presses forward with combinations, landing punches as Jasudavicius begins to show signs of fatigue. Blanchfield continues throwing combinations, but Jasudavicius remains composed and avoids allowing the striking exchanges to dictate the fight. As Blanchfield advances, Jasudavicius changes levels and attempts another single-leg takedown. Blanchfield initially defends the shot, but Jasudavicius keeps working for the body lock and pushes the action toward the fence. She eventually drags Blanchfield back to the canvas, reinforcing her control during the closing moments. After the victory, Jasudavicius called for her shot at a rematch with new UFC women’s flyweight champ Natalia Silva.

With the unanimous decision victory, Jasudavicius makes a strong statement in the women’s flyweight division and puts herself firmly in the conversation for a bigger challenge. Her ability to combine relentless wrestling with dangerous submission attempts proves decisive against a highly ranked opponent. Blanchfield, meanwhile, must regroup after a difficult night as she looks to get back into the title picture.
