Norma Dumont enters the fight with a 13-3 professional record and looks to rebound from a unanimous-decision loss to Joselyne Edwards in April 2026. The defeat snaps Dumont’s six-fight winning streak. Before that setback, Dumont picks up consecutive victories over Ketlen Vieira by split decision, Irene Aldana by unanimous decision, Germaine de Randamie by unanimous decision and Chelsea Chandler by unanimous decision. She therefore wins four of her previous five fights heading into the matchup with Perez.
Ailin Perez, meanwhile, brings a 13-2 professional record and much stronger recent momentum. The Argentine enters the contest on a six-fight winning streak, with her latest victory coming against Macy Chiasson by unanimous decision in February 2026. Before Chiasson, Perez defeats Joselyne Edwards by unanimous decision, Karol Rosa by unanimous decision and Daria Zhelezniakova by unanimous decision. She also records victories over Lucie Pudilova and Ashlee Evans-Smith during her UFC run. Her only UFC defeat before facing Dumont comes against Stephanie Egger in her promotional debut in 2022.
Perez sets the tone early, engaging Dumont in the striking exchanges and doing enough to edge the opening minutes. Dumont remains competitive on the feet, but Perez finds her rhythm and lands effectively as the round develops. Late in the round, Perez secures a takedown, giving her an important closing sequence and helping her claim the opening stanza.
Dumont comes out with more aggression and makes an early statement by taking Perez down. Perez quickly works her way back to her feet, and much of the round plays out on the feet. The pace becomes more measured as the round progresses, with both women having their moments. Dumont lands the most significant punch of the round during the final 90 seconds, but Perez remains active and continues to engage. Dumont also begins talking to Perez during the exchanges, nearly paying for it when Perez throws a spinning back fist.
The final round follows a similar pattern, with both fighters continuing to exchange on the feet. Perez eventually gets her hands on Dumont and drives her against the fence. From there, Perez lands a hard knee to the body before continuing the pressure. Dumont continues to taunt Perez throughout the round, but Perez finishes strongly, landing a big left hand at the final horn. The final bell does not immediately end the drama, as the two fighters continue their confrontation and security personnel have to step in to separate them.
Perez leaves UFC Vegas 121 with her sixth straight victory, while Dumont suffers her second consecutive defeat. Earlier on the card, Christian Edwards also delivers a statement performance, rallying from a difficult opening round to stop Rodolfo Bellato in the third round. Christian Edwards secures his first UFC victory with a third-round TKO over Rodolfo Bellato in their light heavyweight clash at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.
Edwards begins the final round aggressively, pressing forward with punches and forcing Bellato toward the fence. The Brazilian initially responds by clinching and turning Edwards against the cage. Once they separate, Edwards follows a jab with a powerful left hook that sends Bellato crashing to the canvas. Edwards immediately follows up with punches and hammerfists, prompting the referee to step in and stop the contest at 1:47 of Round 3.
