Fence grabs cost Florim Zendeli. The main event at PFL Sioux Falls on May 2, 2026, inside the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, turned into a frustrating night for Florim Zendeli and a dominant homecoming win for hometown favorite Logan Storley who once defeated by Thad Jean. Storley leaned heavily on his wrestling from start to finish, while Zendeli dug himself into an early hole after multiple costly mistakes that completely changed the course of the fight.
The fight started and Storley wasted no time closing distance and looking for takedowns. As soon as the first grappling exchanges began, Storley forced Zendeli backward and worked for top control. But almost immediately, trouble started brewing for Zendeli. While defending Storley’s takedown attempts, Zendeli repeatedly grabbed the fence to stop being taken down. Referee Kevin MacDonald wasn’t in a forgiving mood. After repeated infractions, Zendeli was hit with two separate point deductions in the opening round for fence grabbing. Storley remained glued to him, controlling position and neutralizing nearly all of Zendeli’s offense.
Knowing he was behind, Zendeli came out with more urgency in round two. He had a few moments of success on the feet, landing some clean shots that opened small cuts around Storley’s face and briefly gave him momentum. But every time it looked like Zendeli might establish rhythm, Storley shut it down. Storley timed another takedown beautifully and returned to pressure, top control, and suffocating wrestling. Zendeli spent long stretches pinned underneath, struggling to create space or build any meaningful offense.

By round three, a finish was realistically his only path to victory after the two-point deductions, but Storley gave him no opportunity. The American stayed disciplined, avoided unnecessary risks, and secured yet another takedown midway through the round. From there, it was more control, more pressure, and more clock management from Storley as he cruised toward a clear decision victory. Zendeli tried to create urgency late, but by then, the scorecards were all but written. Afterwards, Storley expressed his gratitude to the Sioux Falls crowd in his post-fight interview.
“South Dakota, thank you guys so much,” Storley said. “From the first fight to now, every time I go to camp, every time I fight, it’s for you guys. It’s for this state. The greatest state. So thank you guys for showing up.”
This wasn’t the most explosive fight of the weekend, but it was a masterclass in control from Logan Storley. In front of his home crowd, Storley stuck to his wrestling, pressure, and discipline while Zendeli’s repeated fence grabs completely derailed any realistic path to victory. For Zendeli, those fence grabs were costly, for Storley, it was business as usual in South Dakota.
