EARLY LIFE
Aly Kalambay is a seasoned fighter well-versed in fighting styles like jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, and muay thai. The fighter has proven himself to be resilient and is ranked #31 in South Africa’s pro lightweights and #39 in the bantamweight division. He has been ranked in six professional mixed martial arts tournaments and four amateur bouts.
MMA CAREER
Kalambay is an experienced fighter who competed in various tournaments like Rise of the Warrior, Fightstar FC, EFC Worldwide, and EFC. His first amateur fight was against Warren King, but he lost this fight after pulling off his opponent’s glove in round three. Next, he faced Tjaaart Henning and lost the battle after getting locked in a triangle choke in round one. Afterwards, he squared up against Leon Eugene White and won the match following a unanimous decision. His last amateur fight was against Orlando Machava, and he won this battle after defeating his opponent in a TKO move.
The fighter made his professional debut when he went up against Benjamin Mukendi at the EFC Worldwide 74. Unfortunately, he suffered defeat after a guillotine choke in the opening round led to his submission. Next, he faced Stephan De La Rey and lost the match to a unanimous decision. Billy Oosthuizen was his next rival but lost again to a unanimous decision. Kalambay continued his losing streak after facing Bradley Swanepoel at EFC 87, where he suffered a barrage of punches that led to a TKO in round one.
Luckily, his losing streak was finally broken when he battled Francois Meyer and defeated his opponent following a flurry of strikes in round one. His last recorded battle was against Elvis Ngwalangwala, but he lost the battle following a unanimous decision.
