UFC middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev is stirring the pot again, this time with callouts, fight updates, and plenty of social media chaos.
The unbeaten star has become increasingly active online, frequently trolling fighters and fans alike while keeping attention firmly on his next move inside the Octagon. While several contenders are pushing for a title shot, Chimaev made it clear that he already has a preferred opponent in mind.
After watching RAF 6 unfold, Chimaev took to social media to challenge former interim welterweight contender Colby Covington to a wrestling match.
“Next RAF I will make American boy humble again. Colbiclown let’s go,” Chimaev wrote.
The comment came shortly after Covington appeared at the event and called out several high-profile names, including Arman Tsarukyan, Kamaru Usman, and Georges St-Pierre. Chimaev wasted no time inserting himself into the conversation.
While the Covington callout grabbed headlines, fans were more interested in Chimaev’s next UFC appearance. Questions have surrounded the champion’s activity level, especially after his early UFC run saw him fight multiple times in quick succession before slowing down in recent years.

Some critics have even suggested Chimaev risks holding the middleweight division hostage if he remains inactive. The champion quickly addressed rumors about a possible injury when a fan asked about his status.
“No, I waiting for Strickland,” Chimaev responded.
That brief message sent the MMA world into speculation mode, strongly hinting that Chimaev wants former champion Sean Strickland as his first title defense.
Strickland recently strengthened his case with a knockout victory over Anthony “Fluffy” Hernandez, immediately calling for a shot at the belt. The win, combined with his outspoken personality and growing popularity, makes the matchup with Chimaev one of the most compelling fights the UFC can make at middleweight.
Meanwhile, Nassourdine Imavov, currently riding an impressive winning streak, could find himself waiting longer despite strong momentum in the division.
Chimaev remains one of the most dominant wrestlers on the UFC roster and has previously competed in grappling matches outside MMA competition, including a freestyle victory over fellow UFC fighter Jack Hermansson. Whether he steps into a wrestling match with Covington or defends his championship against Strickland, the Swedish-Chechen star continues to keep fans talking.
For now, all signs point toward Chimaev preparing for a blockbuster title defense and if his social media activity is any indication, he plans to make plenty of noise before fight night arrives.
