The UFC Vegas 99 took place on Saturday and held a thrilling fight between Anthony Hernandez and Michel Pereira.
Pereira opened the round with leg kicks after Hernandez’s takedowns. Hernandez’s finally scored a successful takedown and pummeled Pereira on the ground. Pereira stayed on the ground and couldn’t land any punches in the first two rounds. After a break, Pereira’s coach advised the Brazillian to get on the offensive and land knee shots.
Pereira had no answer to Hernandez’s offence in the championship rounds UFC Vegas 99, barely firing any attacks in rounds three and four. Pereira’s cornerman asked the Brazilian to land at least one knee in the final five minutes, and “Demolidor” did just that, only to open the door for Hernandez to land a well-timed takedown again. Once on the ground, “Fluffy” rained down punches until referee Herb Dean mercifully called the TKO stoppage.
He was asked for who he wanted next inside the octagon after snapping Pereira’s eight-fight winning streak, but Hernandez had no name in mind for the call-out.
“I don’t even follow the roster that close, so I couldn’t f*cking tell you who’s in front of me,” Hernandez said. “But I know that I’m ready and I’m sharp and I’m ready for f*cking anyone.”
