Mike Malott secures hard-fought decision victory over Kelvin Holland. The co-main event of the night on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada, delivered a thrilling welterweight clash between Kevin Holland and hometown favorite Mike Malott. The Canadian crowd came alive as both fighters traded powerful shots and showcased their distinct styles.
Kevin Holland has always been one of the UFC’s most entertaining fighters. Earlier this year, on March 9, 2025, Holland returned with an impressive unanimous decision win over Gunnar Nelson. That victory gave him a much-needed boost after a rough patch in late 2024. A few months later, on June 14, 2025, he followed up with a strong performance, submitting Vicente Luque in Austin. However, Holland’s momentum didn’t last long. In July 2025, at UFC 318 in New Orleans, he faced Daniel Rodriguez and dropped a tough unanimous decision loss. Before that, Holland had also suffered a submission loss to Reinier De Ridder. in January 2025 . Despite these ups and downs, Holland remains a fan favorite because of his fearless style and willingness to fight anyone, anywhere.
Mike Malott has been one of the division’s fastest-rising stars. His recent performances show a mix of power, composure, and finishing ability that has quickly earned him fan support especially fighting in his home country. Malott’s breakout moment came on May 10, 2025, when he delivered a stunning 26-second knockout of Charles Radtke at UFC 315 in Des Moines, Iowa. It was one of the quickest finishes of the year and announced his arrival as a serious contender. Before that, he earned a solid unanimous decision win over Trevin Giles on November 2, 2024, showing better endurance and cage control.
However, his momentum had been briefly halted earlier in his career. On January 20, 2024, at UFC 297 in Toronto, Malott suffered his first UFC loss a TKO defeat to veteran Neil Magny, who used his experience to overwhelm the young fighter in the later rounds. Instead of losing confidence, Malott bounced back stronger, stringing together back-to-back wins that earned him this co-main event spot against Holland.

Mike Malott walked into the octagon first and Holland followed. Holland tried to touch gloves but Mallot ignored it and stayed all business. The fight started slow with both of them trading punches and leg kicks. Holland tried to take Malott down with a kick but Malott dragged his foot. Holland escaped and put Malott on the mat. Almost immediately Holland escaped but Malott took Holland down again. Malott then kicked Holland in the groin by mistake and the fight was stopped for a few minutes. When Mallot tried another takedown, he hit Holland low again and the fight was put on hold with Holland down on the mat struggling to stand up, and it looked like he might not continue. The fight finally resumed and the two went back to exchanging punches.
Round 2 started with a head kick from Holland and they kept trading punches. Malott landed a few clean shots that got the crowd reacting. They kept exchanging. Malott pressed Holland to the cage for a few seconds and landed punches and leg kicks until Holland found space to escape. By the end of the second round, Mallot had a nose bleed.
Round 3 opened with both of them touching gloves, then Holland threw leg kicks and Malott returned his own. They both threw punches back and forth. Malott shot another takedown and got it less than two minutes into the round, holding Holland down and landing punches before locking his legs and going for a choke. Holland escaped and got up again but was pushed to the cage again until the final bell. Mike Mallot won by unanimous decision.
