The sequel to Road House is shaping up to be a combat sports reunion, but Conor McGregor won’t be part of the action this time around. Instead, two of his former rivals, Dustin Poirier and Michael Chandler, will share the screen in Road House 2, alongside a stacked lineup of real-life fighters and martial artists.

According to Deadline, Amazon MGM Studios has confirmed that six professional fighters are joining the cast, including UFC standouts Poirier, Chandler, Michael “Venom” Page, and Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson. Also on board are former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, GLORY heavyweight kickboxing champion Rico Verhoeven, and UFC veteran Jay Hieron, who will reprise his role as Jax Harris from the first film.

The upcoming sequel stars Jake Gyllenhaal, who returns as Dalton, a bouncer-turned-MMA fighter. He’ll be joined by Leila George, Aldis Hodge, and former WWE superstar Dave Bautista. The film will be directed by Ilya Naishuller and promises a much larger scale than the first installment, with filming locations set across the United Kingdom, Malta, and Savannah, Georgia.

The first Road House remake, released in 2024, featured McGregor as Knox — one of the film’s central villains — and pulled an impressive 50 million worldwide viewers within its first two weekends on Prime Video. However, McGregor isn’t expected to appear in the sequel as he focuses on his anticipated UFC comeback, possibly facing Chandler at the UFC White House card scheduled for June 2026.

Many of the new cast members already have acting experience. Verhoeven previously starred in Black Lotus and appeared in Den of Thieves 2, while Woodley has made appearances in Straight Outta Compton and Cobra Kai.
While Road House 2 hasn’t set an official release date yet, early reports hint at a 2026 or 2027 debut — and with this powerhouse lineup of fighters, fans can expect a sequel that packs just as much punch as the original.
