UFC Shanghai was a night of exceptional wins and takedowns, but a few of the fighters stood out for their remarkable performance in the octagon.
One of such fighters is Uran Staybaldiev, who opened the preliminary card with a choke that took his opponent, Diyar Nurgozhay, out, leading to his first-ever UFC win and a $50k bonus. Next to receive the performance of the Night bonus was Kyle Daukaus, who was initially released from UFC after consecutive losses, but he won a CFFC title and soon returned to the octagon, where he scored a TKO in the early minutes of his bout with Michael Pereira.
Charles Johnson also did not disappoint as he gave it his best in his matchup against Lone’er Kavanagh and finally got an opening in the second round when his opponent dropped his defence, giving him an opening to end the fight in a TKO.
Lastly on the list of bonus winners was Johnny Walker at the main event. The fighter faced China’s favourite Zhang Mingyang and went in for an early takedown, but spent most of the fight on the canvas. Many thought this would be the end of him, but he scored a kick that rattled Zhang and eventually took him out.
