Steve Garcia destroys David Onama in first-round TKO at UFC Vegas 110 main event. Steve Garcia made a powerful statement in the UFC Vegas 110 main event, needing less than four minutes to secure a brutal first-round knockout over David Onama and extends his winning streak in style.

The UFC returned to the APEX facility in Las Vegas this weekend, Saturday November 1st, with a featherweight showdown headlining the card. Steve Garcia and David Onama stepped into the cage in the main event, bringing intensity, power, and high stakes to a packed Fight Night atmosphere.

Steve Garcia entered into this fight with good momentum. His recent run has been impressive, and he picked up a big win over Calvin Kattar by unanimous decision on July 12, 2025 at UFC Nashville. Garcia is known for his strong striking and knockout power, and many of his wins in the UFC have come by TKO/ KO. Earlier in his career he also experienced tough moments, including a knockout loss to Maheshate back in June 2022. Since then, he has improved his defence and looks far more confident in the cage.

David Onama was also entering the main event with strong momentum. He holds a record of 14–2. One of his biggest recent wins came against Giga Chikadze, who he defeated by unanimous decision on April 26, 2025 in UFC Kansas. Onama has not lost a fight since August 2022, when he was defeated by Nate Landwehr by decision. He is a well-rounded fighter with solid striking and grappling, and this main event was supposed to be a big chance for him to move closer to the top of the division.

From the start of the fight, Garcia came out aggressively, putting pressure on Onama with fast punches and heavy combinations but with with little coming in return from Onama. Garcia’s pace was just too much,he mixed his shots well, targeting both the body and the head, forcing Onama to fight on the back foot. The first big moment came when Garcia landed a strong left hand that sent Onama stumbling. Garcia followed up with a powerful flurry of punches, dropping Onama again. Referee Herb Dean had to step in to stop the fight at 3:34 of the first round.

It was a flawless performance from Garcia, who didn’t give Onama any chance to recover or find his rhythm. The victory extended Garcia’s winning streak and earned him one of the most impressive finishes of his career. After the fight, Garcia called out former featherweight champion Max Holloway, saying he wants a chance to test himself against the best.

“I said this before, my dad told me to be violent in here,” Garcia said after his latest win. “My dad asks, I try to deliver. I wanted to make something of myself. I came to the UFC, I went on this long fight streak, asked God to make me somebody and I’d do the world. I’m here proving my worth. “In here, this is kill or be killed. I’m like bro, I’m going to get you so you better be ready. I don’t get paid by the hour, I get paid by the minute so I make sure I finish my opponents if it presents itself.” “I’m going to throw a little curveball in there,” Garcia shouted. “I want the Rocky Balboa story. I want the one with Max Holloway and the ‘BMF’ title. I want that champ. I want that BMF Max Holloway champion right there.”

For David Onama, the loss was a tough one. He entered the fight on a good run and hoped to climb the rankings, but Garcia’s pressure and accuracy proved too much on the night. In just under four minutes, Steve Garcia made a strong statement.
