EARLY LIFE
Muyambo is a skilled upcoming MMA fighter who has continued proving himself a worthy opponent. He began fighting at the age of 15 after walking past the Panther Fighting Arts and Fitness Academy and gaining interest in the sport.
He competed in the CFL welterweight division and won the title. Muyambo has also won grappling tournaments like GASS in Cape Town and WP K-1 and was the champion at the SA MMA Championship in Pretoria in 2010. The athlete has been in fourteen professional MMA fights and two amateur bouts.
MMA CAREER
The fight has competed in various MMA competitions, including Cape Fight League, EFC Africa, and EFC Worldwide.
His first amateur bout saw him faceoff against Texier Kabesa, but he lost the match in the first round after a flurry of punches led to a TKO. Next, he faced Shaun De Lunge and won following a split decision.
Muyambo finally made his professional debut when he faced Donald Nzirawa. His opponent landed a knee strike, but Muyambo went in for a takedown. Nzirawa mounted him and went in for a few strikes. He performed a body slam and proceeded with a triangle lock, but Muyambo wriggled out. They soon got back on their feet and clinched up before Muyambi performed a takedown and ended the round. Round two was followed by more clinching and a takedown by Muyambo, but his opponent went in for an armbar. Muyambo continued to wrestle with his opponent, but the bout finally ended with a win for Muyambo via unanimous decision.
Next, he faced amateur opponent Texier Kabesa and won the fight after a barrage of punches led to a TKO in round two. Later, he faced Igeu Kabesa and lost following a KO by punches in round two. After this, he battled Luke Micheal at EFC 80. Muyambo went in for a takedown in the opening round and fired a few shots, but Micheal had him in a headlock. The two continued to wrestle, but Micheal soon got back on his feet. The two clinched up, and Muyambo attempted another takedown, but Micheal went in for a sprawl and landed a few elbow strikes and a ground pound before the round ended.
Round two began with an exchange of blows and leg kicks before Michael’s body slam. Muyambo had him in a headlock, but Michael broke through. He continued to land several strikes, but Michael kept absorbing the punches. The third round saw the two exchange leg kicks before a sprawl and a mount by Michael. The two continued to wrestle, but Michael saw an opening and punched Muyambo until the fight was stopped, and he won the match via TKO.
Following this battle, he faced Don Madge and was defeated after a TKO in round one. Later, he faced Armand Scheepers and lost again after getting locked in a triangle choke in round one. Soon, he squared off against Pope Djembo and won the fight unanimously. Tyson Chelin was his next opponent, and he won following a unanimous decision. Subsequently, Muyambo faced Deon Brunning and lost in round two after suffering a KO. Later, he battled Oumpie Sebeko and won the fight after an armbar led to his opponent’s submission in round one.
Muyambo faced Sidle Manengela at the EFC Worldwide 65 and won the fight following a split decision. He lost his next two fights against Roedie Roets and Bruno Mukulu via unanimous decision.
His last recorded fight was against Saxon Dalefield. He came in with a hard left punch and a left-right combo, but Dalefield landed a left hook that dropped him, leading to a KO win for Dalefield.
