OKTAGON 76 was a night to remember for many fighters, including former Bellator star Daniel Weichel, who made a grand return to his native Frankfurt, Germany, to face Anou Tounkara.
Weichel had been out of the game for years but came back strong to battle Tounkara in his hometown. In this fight, Weichel moved forward but stayed cautious in the pocket. Tounkara barely engaged as Weichel pressed the action and secured a unanimous decision win.
In the co-main event, Frederic Vosgrone faced Fabio Moraes in a light heavyweight bout. The German fighter went viral in the past due to his resemblance to WWE legend Brock Lesnar and UFC star Paddy Pimblett. Making his return since that viral debut, Vosgrone did not disappoint against his Brazilian opponent. He quickly shot for a single leg, secured closed guard, and used ground-and-pound to work past the guard into mount before taking belly-down control. Vosgrone locked in a rear-naked choke that forced Moraes to tap out just seconds into the opening round.

Vosgrone moved to 5-0 in his career and 2-0 under the OKTAGON banner, while Fabio Moraes fell to 7-2 overall and 0-1 for OKTAGON. Despite the dominant win, Vosgrone revealed uncertainty about his future with the promotion.
“I don’t know if I’ll fight for this organization again, they treated me like shit at every event,” Vosgrone said before walking out of the post-fight press conference.
