Mike Perry, BKFC’s King of Violence champion, is gearing up to return to the cage soon. The last time fans saw him fight was in July 2024, when he faced popular influencer Jake Paul in a boxing match.

Since then, Perry has paused his fighting career. He has focused on podcasting and launching his striking promotion, Dirty Boxing Championship.

“I want to, I want to. I have the urge,” Perry told MMA Junkie. “I’m hungry for it. I do train, and I was just talking to someone, saying I want to turn up the heat in my training over the next eight weeks. I’ve had some calls and conversations, talked with a lot of powerful, important people, and it’s always the same story: Get me back in the ring. I want to get back in front of the people and show the eyes these punches. It’s all part of the big plate I got. It’s taken a big portion—me trying to get back in that ring and do what needs to be done for me to do that. It’s bound to happen.”

“Platinum” says he’s already in early talks for a big return fight with a few different options. He hopes not only to fight in 2025 but to do it more than once.

“I might have a big name in the hook,” Perry said. “I’ve been having this name; it’s just they might need more preparation, and it takes two sides to get it done. There’s also another side I was just getting word on. If things are getting taken care of correctly, and I’m taken care of properly, then it might just be a little while longer before I get my chance to get back in the ring. The question shouldn’t be: Will Platinum Mike Perry fight this year? It should be: Will he fight two times by the end of the year? So we’ll see. … I’m literally fighting, scratching, and clawing to force someone to give me something real. I think we’re real close to that.”

In light of his return, Perry has his sights set on Robbie Lawler. Perry has made it clear since 2017 that he’s interested in fighting the former UFC welterweight champion. The two were initially scheduled to face off at UFC 255 in late 2020, but Lawler retired. Since then, it’s been unclear whether the matchup will ever happen.

In a recent interview, Perry suggested that Lawler may be avoiding a fight with him out of fear.

“Everybody wants to see me beat him up, man. I think he’s scared. He’s too afraid. Robbie’s afraid because I got five bare-knuckle fights. Plus, you know, any street fight I’ve ever had.”

“I don’t know. Has Robbie ever been in a street fight? I don’t think he has. I don’t think people tried him. How could it have happened and not gone on the internet?”
