Former welterweight champion Leon Edwards is eager for a rematch against Belal Muhammad, but despite losing to “Remember The Name” Edwards says he is the “worst” fighter of all time.
Despite putting on a stellar performance, Edwards lost his title to Muhammad at UFC 304. Since then, the fighter has been hell-bent on a rematch and plans on defeating his next opponent, Jack Maddalena, to gain another shot at the title. Edwards is positive he will regain his belt if given a rematch shot, but he doesn’t think Muhammad is much of a competition to him. He calls Muhammad the worst fighter and believes he will beat him in a rematch.
“For me, I would say Jon Jones,” Edwards said when discussing the best fighter of all time on The Louis Theroux Podcast. “My second best is Anderson Silva.”

When asked who the worst was, Edwards was quick to find an answer.
“(Worst?) Belal… I’d love to run it back,” He continued. “Normal time. I’d love to run it back again (in 2025).”
“I feel like after beating Jack, definitely (I can get a title shot). He’s ranked five or four in the world. And, in the welterweight division right now, there are not a lot of people barking for a title shot. I think Belal is fighting Shavkat, hopefully in April or May. After that, there is no one else for the title apart from me. I go out there March 22, put on a great performance, I can’t see why not,” Leon Edwards said.
Leon Edwards is 22-4, and one NC as a pro, coming off a decision loss to Belal Muhammad. To get a rematch shot, the fighter will have to bring his A-game and defeat Jack Maddalena on March 22. Muhammad, meanwhile, is expected to figure in a rearranged showdown with Shavkat Rakhmonov for his delayed first title defence.
